Hey hey, Peeps!
Happy to share my contribution to the Spider Rose episode of Love, Death + Robots!
I was in charge of creating the giant space drill environment (rocks, Drill, Corridor room), definitely one of the trickier setups I’ve worked on.
The space was extremely tight, so making it both cinematic and workable for animation was quite the challenge.
The whole structure was assembled in Houdini, with Brandon Mileta adding all the procedural cables that brought it to life.

Most of the modeling was done in poly using 3ds Max, with ZBrush for close-up hero details and rocks. RailClone driving the procedural parts of the main Meca structure.
Textures were done in Substance Painter, with a lot of UDIMs to cover that massive piece of machinery.
Had a blast working on this episode, I really got to push the detailing and scale I love so much.
Huge thanks to everyone at Blur Studio for the incredible final lookdev, animation and rendering!
Hope you’ll like it!
Cheers!
