Secret Level: Unreal Tournament

Hey everyone! Super proud to have worked on the Unreal Tournament episode of Secret Level for Amazon Prime! 🎮 I had the opportunity to create the iconic Facing Worlds environment, designing the concrete blocks that became the foundation for few others arenas. I also contributed to the lighting for some key shots, especially toward the end of the episode. The goal was to design each pieces to fit together seamlessly, like Lego bricks, creating massive structures composed of blocks in various sizes and shapes.

The biggest challenge? It’s all real-time! Everything, from animation, layout to FX and lookdev, all was built and rendered in Unreal Engine. Working with such a small but talented team, we pushed the limits of what’s possible in real-time production, and the results are getting closer to pre-rendered quality. Of course my old fashion 3dsmax for the modeling, blockout and Zbrush for the closeups. All converted into Nanite meshes and Lumen for the lighting.
A huge shoutout to Jean-Baptiste Cambier, Vladimir Somov, Alla Chernova and Mathias Jourdes for their exceptional work on the final lookdev, lighting, and compositing. It was a true team effort and their talent made all the difference in bringing this project to life!

Unreal Engine continues to amaze me with its capabilities, and while there’s always room to improve, I’m thrilled with what we achieved. Big thanks to Amazon for giving us this opportunity and I hope more will come in the future!
Can't wait for you to check it out!
